Alta Labs 12 Port SFP+ Distribution Switch

The Alta Labs S12 is a 12-port SFP+ distribution switch engineered for high-speed aggregation and core/distribution performance across enterprise and commercial networks. Purpose-built for campuses, hospitality, entertainment venues, Pro AV, and MDU environments, the S12 delivers scalable 10Gbps fibre or copper uplinks to support modern edge switching, high-capacity wireless deployments, and bandwidth-intensive applications.

Featuring 12 × SFP+ ports, each capable of up to 10 Gbps, the S12 provides flexible connectivity for backbone links, switch-to-switch aggregation, server uplinks, and high-speed inter-site designs. The platform supports a wide range of link speeds depending on transceiver selection, making it a practical choice for staged upgrades from 1Gbps to 10Gbps without forklift replacement.

The S12 is a fully managed, rackmountable switch with versatile mounting options for rack or wall installation. Included mounting hardware supports mounting a single unit in a standard 1U rack space or on a wall, while an optional connector bracket allows two S12 units to be installed in a single 1U for higher-density distribution builds.

Deployment and operations are streamlined through Bluetooth onboarding and the Alta Networks mobile app, with centralised visibility and configuration delivered via the Alta cloud management platform. Enterprise feature support includes VLANs, VLAN stacking (Q-in-Q), ingress and egress rate limiting, IGMP snooping, 802.1X authentication, and network loop detection, helping deliver secure segmentation and stable performance across multi-tenant and multi-site networks.
