The Alta Labs S16-PoE is a managed 16-port Gigabit PoE+ switch designed for small to mid-sized enterprise, education, hospitality, and commercial networks that require reliable power delivery, fibre uplinks, and centralised visibility. Positioned as a flexible access-layer switch, the S16-PoE balances port density, PoE capacity, and performance in a compact, rack-ready form factor.
The switch provides 16 × 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet ports, with 8 ports supporting 802.3at PoE+, delivering a 120W PoE budget to power wireless access points, IP cameras, VoIP handsets, and IoT devices. Two SFP uplink ports enable fibre or copper connections up to 1 Gbps, supporting resilient upstream connectivity to core or distribution switches.
Designed for operational simplicity, the S16-PoE supports Bluetooth-based onboarding for rapid deployment and integrates with the Alta cloud management platform and mobile app for intuitive monitoring and configuration. Network administrators benefit from a comprehensive feature set including VLANs, ingress and egress rate limiting, IGMP snooping, 802.1X authentication, and network loop detection, enabling secure segmentation and stable network operation.
With support for rack or wall mounting and a fanless cooling design for quiet operation, the S16-PoE is well suited to comms rooms, cabinets, and distributed access deployments.
