This OM5 wideband multimode fiber optic cable supports multi-wavelength transmission systems operating in the range of 850-953nm. It optimally supports Shortwave Wavelength Division Multiplexing (SWDM) applications, reducing the parallel fiber count by a factor of four. This feature allows the continued use of just two fibers for transmitting 40 Gb/s and 100 Gb/s, significantly reducing fiber counts for higher speeds.
Constructed with a riser (OFNR) flame-retardant jacket and precision zirconia ferrule connectors, this cable ensures low loss and high performance. The duplex zipcord enhances mechanical performance and reduces the risk of crimping, while the bend insensitive fiber with a minimum bend radius of 7.5mm allows for efficient installation and maintenance.
Compliant with TIA-604 (FOCIS) and meeting TIA-492AAAE and draft IEC 60793-2-10 A1a.4 requirements, the OM5 cable is backward compatible with existing OM4 networks and applications. It is also RoHS compliant and optically tested for insertion loss to guarantee high quality.
